Career Prospects
Imagine getting paid to use your creativity to dream up designs
for beautiful jewellery. You can enjoy an exciting, creative,
high-paying career when you become a jewellery designer!
Jewellery designers are artists who spend their days defining style
with their distinctive, eye-catching pieces.
In this creative career you can find work as part of a busy
design studio, although many jewellery designers choose the freedom,
independence, and flexibility of running their own business.
Throughout the course you will receive insights from a former
jewellery designer for the Ralph Lauren Jewellery Company and the
Jones New York label. Other experts you will hear from include:

- Josh Warner, founder and principal designer of GOOD ART, a
high-end jewellery company in Hollywood, whose jewellery has
appeared in magazines such as Vogue and GQ and is worn by
celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Usher, and Ashton Kutcher
- Frances Smersh, winner of the NICHE Fashion Jewellery Award
for excellence and innovation in the American and Canadian craft
industry
- Anne Sportun, who landed the first wholesale order for her
jewellery at age 16, and now sells to approximately 70 retailers
in the U.S. and Canada
- Jeanne Johngren, who broke into jewellery design with no
formal education, selling $3,000 worth of jewellery in two days
at a local craft fair, and now runs a successful retail store
and e-commerce website selling her jewellery
